How do I configure my machine to setup the IPv6 in IPv4 tunnel to the SixXS PoP?

The easiest way is by using AICCU, though if one wants to configure it manually or because AICCU doesn't support your platform, then you can pick your Operating system from the following list. AICCU can configure static, heartbeat and AYIYA tunnels.

Warning The manual methods described below only apply to static proto-41 tunnels. AYIYA and heartbeat tunnels require AICCU.

Select your Operating System

6Wind (SixOS)

First you define your IPv6 in IPv4 tunnel:
  • you need to get into the migration context (keyword "mig")
  • you define a 6in4 tunnel with the following command:
    6in4 'number' 'localv4' 'distantv4' 'localv6' 'distantv6'

Then, you configure the routing by setting a default IPv6 route:
  • you need to get into the routing context (keyword "rtg")
  • you define your IPv6 default route with the following command:
    ipv6_defaultroute 'gateway'

6WIND (SixOS) Example:
mig
  6in4 0 [Your IPv4 Endpoint] [PoP IPv4 Endpoint] [Your IPv6 Endpoint] [PoP IPv6 Endpoint]
rtg
  ipv6_defaultroute [PoP IPv6 Endpoint]
