I'm curious if a similar thing happened here.

Continue encouraging your techie friends to get on to IPv6 any way they can. Put all your cool stuff on IPv6. Soon enough we will have a big enough mass. :)
Google over IPv6

Google is reachable via IPv6, but it still doesn't index IPv6 sites. That's when things will be cool.
I set up a test to see be able to determine if Google is indexing IPv6. I made up two links from my site (which is dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 enabled and has both records):
http://www.roysdon.net/
It has a link to an IPv6-only host:
http://ipv6.roysdon.net/
This site has a made up word (I just pounded random letters and made it almost look like a real word). I can search Google for this word, and it still doesn't return this site.
To make sure I knew that Google was indexing my site, I created a control site which points to an IPv4-only host:
http://ipv4.roysdon.net/
This site also has the made up word. If you seach Google for this made up word (I don't want to post it since I want Google only to find it on my site, but it's clear on the site what the word is), it will only return the IPv4 site.
While I can understand how they don't want IPv6-only sites returned for the regular IPv4 search engine (as that would make IPv4-only users frustrated), the http://ipv6.google.com/ site should include IPv6-only sites in the index.
Anyone at Google listening?

Two suggestions: Add some flags to be able to filter searching. Some flags that would let you return searches that had links that were:
ipv4-only (default for now)
ipv6-only (possible not the default for a long time, but eventually).
dual-stack (search sites that list and return traffic on both A and AAAA).
Just like you can do things like site:cisco.com or filetype:pdf
How about adding
protocol:ipv4
protocol:ipv6
protocol:dualstack
or for short:
prot:4
prot:6
prot:ds
Again, I wonder if anyone from Google's IPv6 team is listening?
