AYIYA Tunnel stopps working after a Time
Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 06 August 2009 02:10:03
My problem is that my Ayiya Tunnel stop working after quite a random amount of time.
Sometimes it happens when it just idles around or when I transfer alot through it.
Can't really tell.
Im using FreeBSD 8.0 Beta2 as my Tunnel endpoint atm (had the same result with a Freebsd 7.2-Stable Machine before) thought it happened cause it was a really Old Machine. But now I upgraded my Hardware but still got the same issue.
Im passing proto 41 in using this (pf):
pass out log proto 41 from any to 212.224.0.188 keep state
pass in log proto 41 from 212.224.0.188 to any keep state
% ping6 ipv6.google.com
PING6(56=40+8+8 bytes) 2001:6f8:900:ba3::2 --> 2001:4860:a003::68
ping6: sendmsg: No buffer space available
ping6: wrote ipv6.l.google.com 16 chars, ret=-1
ping6: sendmsg: No buffer space available
ping6: wrote ipv6.l.google.com 16 chars, ret=-1
Im wondering since I get following rules whenever the Tunnel is working or its on "No buffer space available" Mode again:
00:00:03.818414 rule 0/0(match): block in on xl0: [|ip6]
00:00:01.000483 rule 0/0(match): block in on xl0: [|ip6]
Via pflog, couldn't get more info out of that one.
The only thing that helps so far is that I stop and start aicuu again.
Hope anybody can give me an idea where to dig/debug cause im kinda out.
Cheers Tobi

Just confirming that issue. FreeBSD 7_Stable actual on a weekly base.
Same problems since ~2 months. Before, there where absolute bombproof tunnels...over months and months. Today I forced a rebuild. Maybe some libraries changed...

Switched to 8-STABLE a few weeks ago. The problem reoccurred again and annoyed me daily. Solution was found in this patch: Kerneltrap
Now it's working fine and John Baldwin mentioned, that it goes to 8 in a few weeks.

There seems to be no problems in
FreeBSD 9.0-CURRENT built Sun Aug 8 16:44:19 CEST 2010
But I might just be lucky :-)
