Windows Server 2008 DHCPv6

Hi, I've connected windows vista and windows 2008 with DHCPv6 to HP switch that supports switching of IPv6 packets. I've configured Vista to automatically recieve DNS server address from windows 2008 DHCPv6. Unfortunatelly it doesn't work. I'm quite familiar with netsh int ipv6 commands on vista and I'm able to set othetstateful option manually in vista to enabled, and after that vista is able to get IPv6 DNS server address. What I want to achieve is to setup vista without manual configuration on client side. My question is how to send "Other config flag" from windows 2008 server with DHCPv6 installed so that vista clent could get DNS server address from DCHPv6. I was able to achieve this when connecting to switch the Cisco router and configuring it with "ipv6 nd other-config-flag" on LAN interface. Is it possible doing the same with win 2008 serv ? /kr

I do not have my Windows Server 2008 config live at the moment, so I can not test this out explicitly, but here is some information from Microsoft that should be able to help. http://blogs.technet.com/teamdhcp/archive/2009/03/03/dhcpv6-understanding-of-address-configuration-in-automatic-mode-and-installation-of-dhcpv6-server.aspx Good Luck. --Dave

thx Dave, I think I've found some useful info: "An IPv6 host performs stateless address autoconfiguration automatically and uses a configuration protocol such as DHCPv6 based on the following flags in the Router Advertisement message sent by a neighboring router:" The question is how to force win 2008 srv to send RA message with "O" flag ? by enabling routing and remote access or something ? /kr
