Windows XP and DNS

Hi there, Could anyone advice me please with possibly detailed information how to allow XP client to resolve names through DNS serv ? I/ve setupped ipv6 DNS serv on windows 2008, and configured XP with it's IPv6 and IPv4 addresses. As far as I see XP sends queries for AAAA records but it doesn't receive anything in response. On the other hand Vista client works perfectly with that 2008 DNS server. On SixXS I've read: "Windows XP unfortunately does not support IPv6 DNS servers directly. As a hackish work-around though one could install bind and point your local DNS resolver there" Is there any other "work-around" instead of local installation of DNS server on each XP client ? regards ! /kr

Same problem here. XP can't use an IPV6 only DNS server. If you use DHCPv6 you can provide a dns address, but he can't use it simply because XP has no idea of how made a dns query over ipv6. :(
