Have IPv6 tunnel, AICCU, but not working
Shadow Hawkins on Monday, 02 November 2009 06:45:39
As it will become apparent very quickly, I'm a noob. I've tried looking for a solution in the forums, and don't understand most of what I see. Perhaps this just isn't for me, but I want to try.
My request for an IPv6 tunnel was approved. I'm running Win7 x64, and downloaded AICCU, logged in, and selected my tunnel (just the one tunnel listed). I received a message about my IP address not matching, which is because I'm using a router (with Tomato/MLPPP installed), so I selected "Behind NAT." When I click "Configure," the "Deconfigure" button is available, but "Test" is not. When I use IPv6Calc, it says nothing about IPv6. When I try to connect to an IPv6 Usenet server, it times out.
I read somewhere on the site that TCP 3874 should be forwarded, so I did that. I also read something about AICCU having issues with Win7, so maybe that's the only problem.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

What is the error message you recieve?
Can you post the output of "ipconfig /all" and your routing table?

I'm not receiving a message, I'm just not able to see any IPv6 information with IPv6Calc, and can't connect to any IPv6 Usenet servers.

You have Teredo. You don't have any interface created by AICCU though.
Might I suggest using the console version of AICCU in combination with the newest Tun/TAP drivers? See the wiki for more details.

I disabled Teredo, got AICCU console running, but am unable to install the TAP drivers. When I run the TAP installer, a console screen flashes up briefly and disappears.
The output from AICCU console doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but I don't see anything that obviously indicates there's a problem with my configuration.

Without TUN/TAP (in the case of an AYIYA tunnel) it won't do much as it won't be able to do anything.
See the Wiki for the details, and otherwise post the output.

No further luck with Tun/TAP, but I read elsewhere in the forums that it isn't needed with a static tunnel, which is what I have. Here is my AICCU console output:

Also, I ran AICCU test, and the 5th test failed, but I don't know what to check with my interface and routing tables. Here's the output:
###### [5/8] Ping the IPv6 Local/Your Inner Tunnel Endpoint (2001:4830:1600:1fa:

The other steps are quite useful too.
PING: transmit failed. General failure.
Never seen that, but two things to check:
- are you running these command properly as 'elevated administrator'
- what firewall software do you have?

Jeroen Massar on Monday, 02 November 2009 22:12:07 sock_getline() : "Type: 6in4-static"
That is a static tunnel, thus no TUN/TAP is needed.
But it won't work behind a NAT box.

I'm not sure you have Teredo (but you can disable it just to make sure) netsh interface teredo set state disabled
But, you don't have an address on your LAN interface. Like Jeroen said, check out the console version...that's what worked in Vista.
