AICCU and OpenWRT/X-WRT
[us] Shadow Hawkins on Tuesday, 08 December 2009 03:21:33
If you're among the fortunate folks that are able to run OpenWRT 8.09 kamikaze (with or without X-WRT extensions), configuring a routed /64 (not /48) has gotten *much* easier. Your AICCU section (if you have the X-WRT extensions, they will be wrapped in a browser-based GUI, and a nice one at that) should have your username, password, and tunnel ID (if you have more than one tunnel and want to use a specific tunnel; most users will be able to leave this area blank) with Default Route, Behind NAT, and HeartBeat all on/checked. In the LAN section, the IPv6 address should be your routed /64. Leave the Default IPv6 Gateway *blank*. (Apparently, an address is auto-assigned out of the /64 for the router itself, so you no longer need to assign one.) My primary admin box dual-boots Windows 7 and Kubuntu 9.10 (both x64, and both supporting IPv6 by default). Both the wired adapter *and* the wireless adapter get proper IPv6 addresses (from the router and it's asasigned /64). My next step is to configure IPv6 on the lone XP wireless client. (I know how to do it; that's strictly a matter of *when*.)
