Setting up Tunnel under FreeBSD
Shadow Hawkins on Tuesday, 31 August 2004 11:52:27
Hi,
i'm using FreeBSD 4.9 and tried to set up my requested dynamic sixxs tunnel. That's what i've done:
- if followed the instructions on https://noc.sixxs.net/faq/connectivity/?faq=ossetup&os=freebsd
- put this in my rc.conf:
ipv6_ifconfig_rl0="2001:06f8:0900:032b:0000:0000:0000:0002 prefixlen 64"
ipv6_enable="yes"
- installed heartbeatd and used the config file that the Tunnel Information page gave me
According to the "Tunnel Statistics" my tunnel seems to be up. I also can ping6 and traceroute6 my v6 address and my pop's v6 address. But i can't ping6 any other IPv6 Addresses:
root@smaug:/etc > ping6 3FFE:80c0:220:0:0:0:0:B
ping6: UDP connect: No route to host
Can anyone help?
Thx
Max

And where might that host be, is that nearby?
You really should have a look at your routing table.
For further hints on debugging see the FAQ and the contact page for a 'reporting problems list'.
In your 'config' above you don't configure a default gateway...
Also note that you might want to check out the new AICCU beta which should automate this for you.

Thx for the help. I fixed my Internet6 routing table and my tunnel is working now. Howerver it is still pretty slow. I just get about 20 to 25kB/s with my sixxs tunnel. Any idea how i can get it faster?
greetings
Max
