Download from Newszilla works only on 1 XP-machine
Shadow Hawkins on Monday, 15 November 2004 21:18:03
Since several days I have a working tunnel with an XP Machine (1).
I use this tunnel to connect to newszilla6.xs4all.nl (usenet junkie client)
Another XP machine (2)on the same network will not work.
On both machines I have IPV6 installed.
Connections:
internet --- router WRT54G --- XP (1) 192.168.0.1
--- XP (2) 192.168.0.x
I use following commands to activate the tunnel after each reboot and this works for machine (1). When I turn off machine (1) and turn on machine (2) the same commands (except for the IP-address) will not work.
ipv6 ifcr v6v4 192.168.0.1 213.204.193.2
ipv6 ifc <interfacenummer> forwards
ipv6 adu <interfacenummer>/2001:960:2:3bb::2
ipv6 rtu ::/0 <interfacenummer>/2001:960:2:3bb::1
Above commands will give me a working tunnel on (1), but on machine (2) it will not work.
Results on machine 1 :
Bezig met pingen van newszilla6.xs4all.nl [2001:888:0:4::119]
vanaf 2001:960:2:3bb::2 met 32 bytes aan gegevens:
Antwoord van 2001:888:0:4::119: bytes=32 tijd=109ms
Antwoord van 2001:888:0:4::119: bytes=32 tijd=75ms
Antwoord van 2001:888:0:4::119: bytes=32 tijd=134ms
Antwoord van 2001:888:0:4::119: bytes=32 tijd=260ms
Ping-statistieken voor 2001:888:0:4::119:
Pakketten: verzonden = 4, ontvangen = 4, verloren = 0
(0% verlies),
Retourtijd in ms circa:
Minimum = 75ms, maximum = 260ms, gemiddelde = 144ms
Results on machine 2 :
pinging is possible but when I try to contact the newszilla6.xs4all.nl server by using 127.0.0.1 as hostname in usenet junkie it does not work.
Can anyone give me a hint how to solve this problem ?

I don't use WinXP and don't know the news-client you are using, but from what you write i guess that it is not ipv6 capable (you connect to localhost 127.0.0.1). Have you checked that you have a local proxy running and that it is configured correctly (as described in the faq)
