NetBSD setup problems
[fi] Shadow Hawkins on Wednesday, 20 April 2005 04:41:27
So, First of all, I had a working tunnel when I used heartbeat but then I got my static ip and I decided to change to 6in4 static. Now I'm having some problems getting my tunnel up. There is a adsl router doing nat between my netbsd box and the internet. My netbsd box has ip "192.168.0.52". And here's my tunnel's setup:
POP IPv4 62.78.96.38 Your Location Espoo, Finland Finland Your IPv4 62.142.248.66 IPv6 Prefix 2001:14b8:100:b6::1/64 POP IPv6 2001:14b8:100:b6::1 Your IPv6 2001:14b8:100:b6::2
And here is the script I use.
ifconfig gif0 create ifconfig gif0 tunnel 192.168.0.52 62.78.96.38 ifconfig gif0 inet6 2001:14b8:100:b6::2 2001:14b8:100:b6::1 prefixlen 128 route add -ifp gif0 -inet6 default 2001:14b8:100:b6::1
I also have configured ipfilters so that it won't block anything. I've also tried to disable ipfilters (for testing):
pass in quick proto ipv6 from any to any pass out quick proto ipv6 from any to any
Any suggestions? Should I change back to hearbeat (aiccu) system or is there something wrong with my setup?

Try tcpdumping and seeing if you get any packets back to your machine. If your NAT-box looses the NAT mapping your connectivity will break.

Hi, No packages coming in. My problems begun when my old adsl modem died and I got new router. I wonder if my new router is one to blame for this. My old router was Telewell EA711 and the new one is Zyxel prestige 660H-61 with newest firmware available (at the moment ZyNOS F/W Version: V3.40(PE.8) | 12/23/2004)). I've heard some rumours that zynos lacks support for protocol 41 but I don't know this for sure.

my guess is that you need to forward protocol 41 to your netbsd box in addition to using your wan address as the tunnel source, although i'm not sure about the latter. optimally, you'd use a netbsd box for nat in the first place and scrap this "consumer router".
