How to set up a IPv6 reverse DNS for my server
Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 19 August 2010 13:28:39
I have created an IPv6 capable address:
server.leithalweapon.geek.nz
I had to use a CNAME to leithal.mooo.com which is from freedns.afraid.org as my domain provider 1stdomains.co.nz refuse to have anything with IPv6.
I now want to create a reverse DNS for my IPv6 tunnel that points back to server.leithalweapon.geek.nz
I am very new to the advanced side of DNS, thus I would like to know how I go about doing this.

See the FAQ, it explains it all (set up the zone file on a box and serve it).

I have read that FAQ, but it doesn't say how we get the SixXS server to point to our own nameserver?
(By the way I have managed to remove the ugly CNAME stuff by moving everything to dns.he.net - I recommend them to anyone who needs IPv6 glue)
(It looks like dns.he.net also do the PTR stuff so I might not need my own box)

Home -> [ Subnet details ] -> reverse delegation.
(Btw, I just lost 2 ISK to see if sixxs would allow me to point my zone to a ns, which didn't yet answer to the zone. It did...)
