echos return via IPv4

Hi
I have just setup a SIXXS tunnel on my W7 64bit system.
Nslookups and pings work fine, and I can access the
suggested IPv6 websites via IE or FF.
However when I monitor the stats on my IPv6 tunnel and
Ethernet IPv4 interfaces I notice something strange,
which doesn't seem normal.
If I ping, nslookup, or visit an IPv6 site packets are
seen leaving through the IPv6 tunnel, but the packets
received don't show up on this same interface.
Both send & receive packets do show up on the Ethernet
device, which is normal since the tunnel is piggy-
backing over this physical device.
There is no change if I disable my Norton Internet
Security's (17.7.0.12) smart firewall.
any ideas ?
Thanks
yann

Which 'stats' do you mean?
I suggest that you look using Wireshark to really see what is going on. Do note that Wireshark unwraps most IPv6 tunneling protocols thus don't get confused by that.

Thanks for your response
By stats I was referring to the Windows' status dialog which display sent and received bytes

I would not be surprised if those statistics are incorrect. Especially for the TUN/TAP driver they tend to be strange.
To be sure what is happening just use wireshark.

Thanks for that pointer Jeroen
You were right, it is receiving the expected traffic
I guess Windows is blind to it, that's all.
I was a little unprepared because the send
& receive indicator always works for OpenVPN
tunnels.
Thanks again
