New ISP, New modem, No IPv6 anymore?!?
Shadow Hawkins on Tuesday, 27 September 2005 22:32:11
Since last week I have a new ISP: Wanadoo. With the new ISP I also received a new modem, the Livebox (Sagem 3202 I think).
Since I'm online again (with Wanadoo) I have no IPv6 tunnel anymore.....
Do I have to change anything or should the Aiccu automatic bring the tunnel online (which I doesn't)???? The stats on http://www.sixxs.net/home/tunnelinfo/?mytunnel indicates that the latency statistics has dropped to zero end the loss statistics to 100% :(
What should I do?

Same problem here. Also Wanadoo.
Did you already get it to work??

Sagem 3202 should be a router.
In order to work with ipv6 on router you must set DMZ on ipv6 machine.

Where and how to do that.
In the livebox i can't find any DMZ option.
Before i had another ISP and a Linksys router, and the router was DMZ disabled, but it works perfect.
Can it be maby a problem that i have another IP number with the live box????

I don't think the IP address should matter, because the heartbeat mechanism automatically takes care of that. I'm using Wanadoo (with a Linksys router) with no problem (well, there is a problem, which is that the POP has been down for a day, but that's another story).
Seems to me the Livebox may be the source of the problem, as indicated above. I assume you are getting full IPv4 connectivity?

Yes i have full IPv4 connectivity. I think the problem must be solved in the livebox. I allready have forwarded all ports to my PC but also there is a firewall inside the livebox.
Do i need to forward some special ports maybe

Hi,
I just got the Wanadoo account up and running, also using the livebox. I'm experiencing the same problem here with the ipv6 tunnel. Did you already solve your problem? If yes, would you be so kind to explain how you solved it.
Thanks in advance

No problem not solved.
Seems like the livebox has a build in router wich should be disabled.
Bu how to do that i really don't know.
So if someone can help us, please help us.

Is far as I know, nobody was able to get IP protocol 41 forwarded by the Livebox and Wanadoo is not helpfull 'as this is not supported'. Most likely it is possible but not with standard configuration and definately not from the http configuration interface of the Livebox. Information on the Livebox is scarce when you Google and most of the stuff is in French. Allthough my knowledge of French is very limited, I couldn't find any stuff in thoose that was giving clues.
Unfortunately, if you want Wanadoo VoIP you are bound to the Livebox since that is the only supported configuration. :(
Likely the only way to get this up and running on a Livebox is using an AYIYA tunnel but this is still in beta test according to the explaning pages on the SixXS website. On the Dutch surfnet pop only static and hartbeat tunnels can be choosen right now so the pages must be right.
Upon asking about public AYIYA availability to the SixXS staff, I got a statement that they hoped to get this live on all pops first week of 2006. Let's be patient.

I experienced the same problem when switching from Versatel (kpn) to Versatel (versatel) account. I also got the new Multimedia Modem, which also blocked the IPv6 tunnel in the beginning.
Most likely, it is not the router which causes the problem, since most router/modems, support or simply transport IPv6. Only the build-in firewalls/NATs cause problems. This because they are already IPv6 prepared but standard IPv6 is blocked (but then it is most likely that one could simply change the firewall settings for the 41 Protocol to accept IPv6 packets), or the firewall simply passes the IPv6-packets because it does not recognise them , but your AICCU-IPv6-tunnel is blocked, because the connection from it to the SIXXS-TIC server (IPv4) is blocked by your build-in firewall or software firewall.
To solve this problem:
- open port UDP/TCP:3874 in the router (preffered by Port triggering).
- allow connection to: tic.sixxs.net on ports UDP/TCP: 3874 by you soft-firewall. (only outbound needed)
- allow IPv6-Protocol (41) by your soft-firewall to any destination (outbound).
Now AICCU should be able to connect to the SIXXS TIC server and setup your IPv6-tunnel, and thereby your IPv6 connectivity.
Hoping this solves your problem.

Maybe there is hope for Wanadoo users without VOIP service. It seems someone was able to put the livebox in bridge mode.

The link points to a Dutch site and posts are in the Dutch language but the CLI commands should be clear. Someone actually reports a working ipv6 tunnel in the new setup.

I've got the same problem here, just signed up with SixXS after a long time of using BT but that was before I had the Livebox. Now, IPv6 doesn't work anymore. Again I wonder why I got this Livebox, but telephone via Wanadoo doesn't work on another modem. And that's for me the very reason that I can't put the thing in bridged mode, because it'll need an IP-address for VoIP.
Has anyone figured out another way to set up IPv6 on a Livebox? I know Wanadoo is (or was) providing beta-stage IPv6 tunnels to their power-users with a Livebox. So technically it should be possible, even without turning the router off.
Would be a static tunnel instead of a heartbeat tunnel solve the problem maybe?

I don't know if this helps but I didn't had any problems with Wanadoo (Surfboard Cable Modem) and no additional Router, but no connectivity using an additional router. By mistyping the last digits of the IPv4 of my POP (102 instead of 107)when forwarding the adress to local I had IPv6 while behind the router.
Changing it back to 107 ( 192.87.102.102 according to AICCU) did make me loose connectivity. I did this repeatingly with the same effect. Rob
