AVM FRITZ!Box 7270 configuration
[de] Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 03 February 2011 11:11:14
Hi there, I have some questions about my IPv6 tunneling configuration in my AVM FRITZ!Box 7270 (fw 74.04.88). So, I signup as an new SixXS user and got verified. After that I have requested an tunnel witch is enabled now. On my FRITZ!Box I have setup the following:
Enabled IPv6 support
Use always the tunneling protocol
Use SixXS (User, Password and Tunnel-ID with the prefix "T")
Detect MTU automaticaly
Announce DNS server via router advertisement (RFC 5006)
Assign ULA unless there is an established IPv6 connection
I do not have an IPv6 subnet registered because I have insufficient credits so the FRITZ!Box says it has failed. Now my question: Did the FRITZ!Box keep the tunnel open with this error so I can earn "normal" credits?

What I have forgot is: I have registered the tunnel at SixXS with the Heartbeat mode.

I suppose, choosing the heartbeat variant might be the problem. At least that was the problem for me, why I couldn't earn credits with my freetzed Fritz.Box 7170 when I first started using IPv6 via Sixxs. It seems that the Fritz.Box does only allow proto41 traffic if it is initiated from the internal network, like it does with TCP-Traffic. I could earn credits when I kept the tunnel connection working by generating IPv6 traffic once in a while (a single ping packet every other minute or so). But the correct solution for me to this problem was, to switch over to AYIAY tunnel which works like a charm for over 18 months now, but also has the disadvantage, that it costs some credits first.

You can easily check if the tunnel is established, by go to your tunnel settings on the website, and check the latency log. It also displays the last alive date+time. I guess that the fritzbox doesn't keep the connection alive.

Thanks for your answer, Jacco. I do not see any "last alive" timestamp. Neither on the homescreen or on the tunnel details. But I recognize a unique "loss package" peak near by 50%. The other graphs shows no data (0%/NaN line). The only timestamp I see is the "created" timestamp on the tunnel details.

Hello, I have the same settings in my AVM FRITZ!Box 7270. If I try to reach ipv6.google.com I get an error and so on other IPv6 sites. Wolfram

Hello, I had similar Problems about two weeks ago. Basically, you have to run aiccu on a host behind your Fritzbox for a week until you get the missing ISK to request a subnet. See the thread in the General-Forum: https://www.sixxs.net/forum/?msg=general-3458297 Best regards, Dirk
