AICCU console works ,GUI doesn't on Windows 7
[ch] Shadow Hawkins on Friday, 04 February 2011 00:25:49
Hi there, After having spend a few hours trying to get things running with aiccu-2006-07-23-windows-gui.exe i gave the console aiccu-2008-03-15-windows-console.exe a try, interesting is that while with the GUI i simply did not manage to get a tunnel up and running, when running the console it just works. Since i prefeer commandline tools anyway I am fine, but still wonder what this could be. Alex

Is GUI version then supposed to work in Vista & 7 ? The AICCU page pretty clearly says that the 2006 version supports only the tap801 driver, which is not said to be compatible with Vista/7. (it lists only the lder Windows versions.) So, tap901 is for Vista & 7. And it is specifically said that it can't be used with the GUI version, so the console version is needed. https://www.sixxs.net/tools/aiccu/
Latest Windows GUI version: 2006.07.23 Latest Windows console version: 2008.03.15 For AYIYA support on Windows the Tun/Tap32 driver from the OpenVPN project is needed. AICCU upto 2006.07.23 only support the tap801 version of the driver. Newer AICCU support tap801, tap802 and tap901. Download Tap Driver (tap901) 32bit + 64bit from OpenVPN 2.1.1 [zip] - Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Seven 32bit + 64bit (not usable for GUI version of AICCU) Download Tap32 Driver (tap801) [zip] - Windows 2000 and Windows XP (32bit)
