AICCU Windows 7 x64 Not connecting through tunnel
Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 10 February 2011 23:34:24
Hey. I'm new here and I just started setting up an AIAYA tunnel through to my computer. The tunnel is activated and I ran the setup commands for the console version of AICCU, but I am still unable to connect to the IPv6 internet.
Here are the results of some tests:
http://pastebin.com/EyJe07QT
And the self test from AICCU:

It seems like the tunnel works until it tries the other side. All help is appreciated.

Hmm...I'm not able to ping the other side of your tunnel either

That indicates that the AYIYA packets are not received on the server side, as then the PoP disables the tunnel and thus the ::1 and ::2 addresses won't be alive for sure.

What firewalling / anti-virus software do you have on the machine? Quite a few products don't support IPv6 and then just drop that (and require deinstallation for them to actually allow that traffic again).
And why do you have multiple interface (Comodo EasyVPN Adapter + Hamachi Network Interface) using addresses from 5.0.0.0/8 ? I am fairly sure that those folks are not supposed to use that address space.
The second pastebin URL is not existing it claims.
Is your clock synchronized correctly and is the timezone set correctly too?
See our TimeCheck which should tell you how far you are off.

The only firewall I'm running is Win7's default one. The different VPN connections were for setting up LAN sessions for online gaming, but I could easily get rid of those if they're blocking the packets.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. Here is the output of AICCU's tests.

"AICCU test" will only determine that it is broken, it does not list any details, can you provide the details as requested on the contact page? Of course when AICCU is running.
PS: when a line states 'Password: xxxx' you might not want to paste that onto the interwebs.

Ok, I've redone the initial tests (route tables, netsh tables, and ipconfig /all) is there anything else I should run?

I have the port forwarded to the AYIYA box now, but still no dice with connecting.

Nonsense, you don't have to forward anything.
The default NATs support UDP and thus because of the heartbeat in AYIYA, it will keep the UDP port open. No forwarding is thus needed.

Can't see anything weird with those settings. You do keep the client running I hope, as at the moment the PoP does not indicate that it is running.

Does it usually take a while for it to get connected, because I usually exit out when I run an IPv6 test and it fails.
I've run AICCU on 2 computers now and both have failed to connect to the tunnel.

I've also managed to ping my PoP and ipv6.google.com. Could this be a DNS problem?

Maybe, please provide a lot more details if you want to ask that question. What exactly are you doing, when are you doing that, what is your setup etc etc etc.

You can only use a tunnel on one endpoint at a time, not multiple.

The other computer is off and not running AICCU. I've managed to ping every IPv6 enabled website I've tested, and Windows's Network and Sharing Center displays sixxs's connection as working fine, although packets are being sent but not received.
Traceroutes using -4 and -6 work fine to my PoP, and AICCU's IPv6 DNS lookup works fine. The only problem I'm having is actually accessing a website from Google Chrome, Firefox, or IE.

You need to use regedit, and go here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Dnscache\Parameters
and add a DWORD value:
AddrConfigControl = 0

Thank you so much, it's working fine now.
(And thank you for keeping up with my multitude of stupid questions. I'm sort of new to Networking)

Actually, It seems like my woes aren't all gone. I've gone back to my usual box and did the Registry fix, and still no internet. Now, I can't even ping any IPv6 sites when AICCU is on.
The only difference between these computers is this is 64-bit Windows 7 with Windows Firewall, while the other is 32-bit Win7 with Norton's firewall.

Uninstall (thus completely remove) Norton and you will suddenly see it all works.
