WinXP x64 + IPv6 = horribly slow or failing connections?
[nl] Shadow Hawkins on Monday, 05 June 2006 21:07:15
Hi all, Today, I tried for the umpteenth time to get an IPv6 connection setup using WinXP x64. After adding the IPv6 protocol to the stack and _before_ signing up for a tunnel, all network connections were horribly slow, eating 100% CPU for > 15 seconds before spitting some "Failed to connect" error. After signing up and enabling the tunnel, the effect remains. I, for the life of me, cannot understand what seems to be wrong. Has anyone observed similar behavior? This is seriously discouraging investment of anymore of my time in IPv6 at home... :( Thx, Ramses.

What process was doing 100%? Did you have any non-MS firewall, do you have SP2 installed? Did you disable things like 6to4, Teredo etc? Also see the nice "Reporting Problems" list which is a general way of testing where problems might occur.
