Tunnel with router and "external" heartbeat
[de] Carmen Sandiego on Wednesday, 13 July 2011 14:49:27
Hi, got a Linksys E4200 with IPv6 support, but it only supports static tunnels. So the tunnel works for about 1 day... Is it possible to set up the tunnel as static in the router config and run an "external" heartbeat/TIC script on a server behind the router? I tried to use dynDNS, but the tunnel config only allows IPs, not domains. Stefan

If you can configure your router to create static tunnel from dynamic interface - yes, you can. Heartbeat script can be run inside the v4 network, it just sends udp packets with information about the tunnel to the POP.

And even AICCU can be used that way by setting the 'noconfigure' flag.
