[Heartbeat] AICCU does not update Microsoft's 6to4 tunnel !
[nl] Shadow Hawkins on Friday, 22 July 2011 04:52:33
When I setup AICCU for a Heartbeat tunnel it doesn't activate or update Micrsoft's 6to4 tunnel with the sixxs ip's. So I had to create a new 6to4 tunnel manually with the help of this page: http://www.sixxs.net/faq/connectivity/faq=ossetup&os=windows. After i did that the tunnel was working. Is this a bug in AICCU? Creating the tunnel manually is not the normal way to do it, right? Note: I reinstalled my whole system to make sure the problem wasn't related to a buggy Windows install. But still the same problem with the fresh install... (Windows 7 SP1).

The bug only affects x64 Windows. I installed Windows 7 SP1 x86 and x64 on a virtual machine. With x86 the 6to4 interface was added when i clicked 'Enable' in AICCU. With x64 the 6to4 interface was NOT added when i clicked 'Enable' in AICCU. I had to make the interface manually by doing: netsh interface ipv6 add v6v4tunnel aiccu [My IPv4 Endpoint] [PoP IPv4 Endpoint] After this i started AICCU and when clicked 'Enable' the ip's in the 'aiccu' interface were updated. Clicking 'Disable' did not remove the interface btw. So conclusion: AICCU can not create or remove a 6to4 interface on x64 Windows, but it can update/modify a 6to4 interface if you create it manually. Is it possible to fix this?

If you are clicking anything you are using the ancient GUI edition of AICCU which for sure will not work on Windows 7 which has a completely different netsh interface from years ago. Testing for Win7 of the next edition is on the list though.

It also affects the command line version (aiccu-2008-03-15-windows-console). It didn't create the interface either. Currently, the only way on x64 Windows is creating the interface manually.

After a reboot my manually created 'aiccu' interface is not active anymore (doesn't show up in ipconfig /all). Is there a netsh command that can make this interface persistent, so it stays active after reboot?
