How to manually configure pc on subnet
Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 31 May 2012 13:00:10
Hello all,
I have one linux server with ipv6 connectivity using aiccu. I also have an aproved subnet from sixxs I now I want to connect several machines in that subnet.
I have dozens of pc's on the same lan and one active directory (domain)server active, this server does the network management including dhcp lease.
If I configure radvd on the linux server all the pc's on the lan will have ipv6 connectivity and that's not what I want - at least for now.
How can i configure for example one windows 7 workstation for ipv6 manually? I tried to insert one manual ip (v6) (from sixxs subnet) and inserted linux ip (v6)(wich have aiccu) in the gateway and the only thing I have is ipv6 name resolution but cannot connect to an ipv6 website (for instance).
Is that procedure the correct one? If it is, then I don't have proper ipv6 connectivity for another reason but at least I can move to another step
Can you guys give me some help?
Thank you

You need to have forwarding enabled and routing properly setup.
If you want us to look what might be wrong in your config, then please provide outputs of routing and address tables on all involved hosts. Traceroutes can also be very useful here.

Hello,
thank you for the replies.
I will try to reload the settings on he routing table.
I will advise if it was successful.
Thank you once again
