Can't get IPv6 to work
[ch] Shadow Hawkins on Monday, 18 June 2012 14:58:52
Hello ! :) A few days ago I switch from Swisscom to UPC Cablecom because of speed/latency issues. But since Swisscom natively provides IPv6 support and Cablecom doesn't, I now have to use my SixXS tunnel/subnet to access IPv6 content. I've already set Google's public DNSs (IPv4/IPv6), configured AICCU with aiccu.conf, launched it (check Behind NAT/Auto Enable) but no IPv6 connectivity. I've also tried OpenVPN with the TAP trick but it doesn't work either. Could somebody help me ? Thanks in advance. :)

(check Behind NAT/Auto Enable)
This means you are using the GUI edition, please try the console version which does work with the current operating systems and tun/tap driver.

Hello Jeroen, Thanks for your help. Unfortunately even with the console version I wasn't able to get an IPv6 connectivity. I also tried he.net but same problem. Any information I could paste here to help ? Thanks, Moin.

See the "Reporting Problems" list on the contact page for a very long list of things that you could and should paste into the forums. "it does not work" is very broad...

Hello Jeroen, Thanks again for your help. Before going into the "Reporting Problems" list, I checked the AICCU console results. Many times when it tried to perform a netsh operation it would fail. So I copied all operations one by one and pasted them into another command prompt (runned as admin). After having executed all tasks I had an active and working IPv6 connectivity. Thanks anyway ! Moin

The current AICCU asks the user to allow permission to upgrade to administrative permissions, thus I wonder where it went wrong.

Same, since I even unblocked the .exe and check the "Run as administrator" box. It said something like "object doesn't exist or unavailable", can't remember. Now I need to figure out how to spread the connectivity across my network...

The current AICCU console does not need that as it has embedded into it instructions for Windows to run it as administrator.

Yeah, strange... Now after a reboot I had to redo the copy/pasta trick and even in a new command prompt I got errors. The name aiccu wasn't accepted but the index number was. Really strange. BTW, my personal computer runs Win7x64 and my server Win8Serverx64.

That is likely because you are messing up your configuration. As you are not showing any output of commands nor any output of the existing applied configuration, there is nothing much to be said about this though.
