tunnel to "fixed" tunnel using dyndns.host (instead of IP-address)

Hi,
Is there a way to configure a "fixed" IP-tunnel, but -for me IP-address on my side- to configure a dyndns hostname (instead of an IP-address).
When I try to enter this into my account, the webpage does not accept it. (says "endpoint is not a valid IPv4 address").
I guess -on the side of the POP- the only thing that would need to be done is run a script which does a "nslookup" of all tunnels configured like this every minute to get the destination IP-address.
This way, I can set up a tunnel to my side, without the need of running the heartbeat-application on a server (or some other device).
Cheerio! Kr. Bonne.

Hostnames are not IP addresses.

And do that a 1000 times and everytime get back stale data which is actually not pointing to the IP address your host is at, but some unexpecting person with an overzealous firewall which then starts notifying all kinds of organizations that we are abusing him by sending these weird packets to him?.
Really, not going to happen, as it will involve a lot of security issues, time-out situations when DNS is broken and other such problems which we are not going to handle for you.
We created the heartbeat and AYIYA protocols for various reasons. If you want a static tunnel, you'll just need to get a static IP address, for dynamic addresses you can pick between AYIYA and heartbeat.
This way, I can set up a tunnel to my side, without the need of running the heartbeat-application on a server (or some other device).
You thus also have to run a DynDNS client. Just install a heartbeat client next to it.

Jeroen,
OK. Understood your message loud and clear. :-)
The problem is simply that here in Belgium, getting a fixed IP-address is not an option for normal "residential" customers; unless you are willing to pay three times as much, just to have a "business" internet-connection.
Just one remark:

Dyndns-clients are quite common in CPE-routers nowdays, but I cannot just add my own stuff (like the heartbeat client) to that router.
Is there a code-base available for a as small as possible heartbeat client; something I can compile easily to try to run it on my dreambox (sat receiver).
Cheerio! Kr. Bonne.
