XP, Heartbeat Tunnel, Request timed out on "ping6 newszilla6.xs4all.nl"
Shadow Hawkins on Monday, 12 January 2004 01:17:49
I'm new to IPv6, so it's most definately my own fault. However, I don't know what I've done wrong. I've been trying for a while now.
The Heartbeat Client is installed and works. Ping6 to self works.
Machine is fitted with two NIC's in order to serve as router. One connected to a cablemodem, one to the local network (192.168.0.1).
I hope this is enough information.
Here are the appropriate dumps.

XP, Heartbeat Tunnel, Request timed out on "ping6 newszilla6.xs4all.nl"
I'm new to IPv6, so it's most definately my own fault.
But at least you give enough information to check where the problem is.
The problems I see are multiple:
 - 6to4 is enabled
 - odd routing entries (deprecate site local stuff eg fec0:0:0:6::/64 on the LAN
 - Double SixXS interface
 - multiple default routes etc...
 - The IP of the POP configured on your box ;)
What I would suggest is, typing the following commands in cmd:
Deinstall IPv6 - purging all the crap (requires reboot):
 - ipv6 uninstall
Reinstall IPv6:
 - ipv6 install
Install all available patches:
Reset the IPv6 stack, just in case:
 - ipv6 reset
Disable 6to4
 - ipv6 interface ipv6 6to4 set state disabled disabled
Disabled teredo, just in case:
 - ipv6 interface ipv6 set teredo disabled
Disable crappy privacy extensions:
 - ipv6 interface ipv6 set privacy disabled
This should clean out everything quite well and the above list should/will be much smaller.
Now run the heartbeat client and let it do it's work.
That is how it works for the rest of the, currently !!360!! heartbeat users ;)
