I can't get the tunnel to work (win xp)
[se] Shadow Hawkins on Saturday, 15 November 2008 22:33:29
Hello. Im new to this and I can't get it to work. I've gotten myself a tunnel, installed drivers and downloaded aiccu. I active the network connection (TAP-Win32 Adapter V9), logging and choosing tunnel in aiccu. 'Enable'. Then nothing. I still have my old IP. I get message 'a network cable not connected' or simular on the network connection, I don't use english windows. Could this be something? Im connected directly to 'internet' through a switch. Anyone know what could be wrong?

The GUI version of AICCU does not work with the v9 TAP adapter. You need to install the v8 version, or use the console edition which does understand v8+v9 TAP driver.
Im connected directly to 'internet' through a switch.
Then why are you using AYIYA? Proto-41 works fine in those cases.

I installed v8 and now it's connecting and I get an ip . I can ping ipv6.google.com but I can't browse it, seems like my browser uses another network connection. don't know what "proto-41" is. Howto force my browser to use another network connection? (it allready has the highest priority of all my network connections.

don't know what "proto-41" is.
See IPv6 Transition Mechanism / Tunneling Comparison
I can ping ipv6.google.com
Try a 'tracert6 ipv6.google.com' and see where it is really going.
but I can't browse it, seems like my browser uses another network connection.
Which browser?
(it allready has the highest priority of all my network connections.
"priority"? Please explain about this. Also, please read the "Reporting Problems" section and provide as much information as possible as requested there.

proto-41 wont work since I have dynamic ip adresses. the trancert goes thru sixxes.net then several p80.net.

im using ff3 and ie6. when clicking "Advanced > Advanced settings" in network connections, you can set in which order to use network connections.

It would when using heartbeat, but AYIYA works fine as well.
when clicking "Advanced > Advanced settings" in network connections,
you can set in which order to use network connections.
That is (afaik, but I am pretty sure) only for the "services" like "Client for Microsoft Networks" "QoS Packet Scheduler" "Service Advertising Protocol", aka the ones you can add to network adapters. It has nothing to do with any actual applications. Applications tend to call getaddrinfo() and try to connect to a remote service based on the data given by that call. Firefox has a setting for disabling IPv6 (about:config -> "network.dns.disableIPv6"), IE6 should work. Check for both that you are not using a proxy. What you should check s your firewall, especially when you have a non-MS firewall, you might even have to uninstall it before port 80 connections over IPv6 will work as the firewall will be like "eh, I don't know that *throw away*".

not using proxy, firefox network.dns.disableIPv6 is false. i removed my firewall from TAP network connection and I disabled it, still same problem. guess I have to try tomorrow, windows has a tendens to fix itself when rebooting ;).

Well, what do you know. When booting this morning everything worked!:D Windows is strange.. I wanna thank you for your effort in trying to get it to worf for me last night, but if windows is against, I guess there's nothing you can do. :)

Well. You can decide that Windows is not worth the effort and go for another OS anytime you choose. ;-)

I was setting it up on a windows machine just for testing, in the future it will most certain be on a linux server.
