AICCU tunnel keeps dropping (ADSL)
[us] Shadow Hawkins on Tuesday, 23 December 2008 20:30:10
I have a Linux do-it-all box (router, proxy, DHCPv4, nameserver, samba server, etc). It's now my tunnel endpoint as well as an IPv6 router for my house. It's running Ubuntu Server. When it works... it works great. For example all my computers on my home network are automatically getting an IPv6 address from radvd, it's set up to route properly, and everything works... great. Before I had my subnet, I was connecting through a NAT with AYIYA. The server is (obviously) not behind NAT. The main problem I have with this setup is that AICCU keeps dropping the connection. It works fine, I walk away, and (after an unknown amount of time) the connection drops. Restarting aiccu (sudo /etc/init.d/aiccu restart) fixes it, after taking a number of minutes to restart the tunnel. I suspect this issue is mainly due to the fact that my ADSL connection is re-established several times a day by pppd... it's seamless as far as downloads and things go, but it might be enough for AICCU to get mad. Should I be on a different type of tunnel? If I'm on a dynamic IP, and not behind NAT, is another type of tunnel more stable? Thanks in advance...

Ah jeez... I usually RTFM but I guess I missed a part... Thanks (if it works), and sorry for the spam
