connection problem: purchase of a router
Shadow Hawkins on Sunday, 11 January 2009 01:43:55
Hello,
I've used ipv6 for a while now and it worked great. Until recently, we have bought a router to get rid of my wireless connection and to connect other computers to the internet. But now my internal ip adress has changed to an 10.0.0.1 adres and i can't get my (external) ipv6 adress back. Could anyone help me please?
Rick

Either configure "DMZ" mode if you have a protocol-41(&heartbeat) tunnel or simply use AYIYA which will punch through it anyway (unless you have a firewall properly setup to block it :)
For the rest, read the "reporting problems / checklist" on the contact page and provide the requested details, of which I see none, not even an OS.

AYIYA didn't work for me. So how do i configure DMZ mode (i don't even know what DMZ mode is) =.=". I hope the circomstances are right to do so (proto 41).
Could you help me out?

How exactly does "AYIYA not work for me"? It should *always* work, unless you misconfigure it. Providing details like OS, what you tried, etc will help.
See DMZ host in Wikipedia.
Generally there is an option that can be set in your NAT box (your 'router') that basically forwards all traffic on to a host on the internal part of your network.

NETGEAR RP614v4 router
tried:
reinstall ipv6 (cmd)
changed tunnel type ayiya

You mean with "netsh int ipv6 reset" also ?
changed tunnel type ayiya
AYIYA should work, unless your NAT box (that RP614v4 'router') filters it, but it should not.

I have no idea how to see if something is filtered in my router.
