Keep tunnel open
[fr] Carmen Sandiego on Tuesday, 17 February 2009 11:27:00
Hi, I setup a static IPv6 tunnel manualy with : https://www.sixxs.net/faq/connectivity/?faq=ossetup&os=linuxdebian It works very well, I'm able to browse IPv6 websites. But after several minutes traceroute from internet to my IPv6 network doesn't work. If I do a ping from my network to internet the tunnel works again. I think there is a timeout if there is no traffic in the tunnel. How can I do to keep the tunnel open? Thanks

I made a script to do a ping every minute to my pop, is it good?

Here's the perl script i have running (via /etc/crontab) in a FreeBSD 7.1 Host: http://www.magicbooks.org/ipv6/pingtest.pl.gz (gunzip to get the perl script) It pings the IPv4 POP as well as the IPv6 POP. On other operating systems, you may have to adapt it a bit (works fine on OSX 10.5, though)
