WINXP Tunnel Not working
Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 07 December 2006 02:50:38
It seems the AICCU tunnel I have configured on my Windows XP workstation is not working. I have obtained 5 points credit for having the tunnel up for a week. Hence, I know the tunnel is "up". I have been digging through the forums for assistance and seeking out as much documentation as I can in an effort to make the tunnel work. An attempt to reach any IPv6 address results in something like the following:
Pinging 6bone.net [2001:5c0:0:2::24]
from fe80::20c:6eff:febf:9221%5 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from fe80::20c:6eff:febf:9221%5: Destination address unreachable.
Reply from fe80::20c:6eff:febf:9221%5: Destination address unreachable.
Reply from fe80::20c:6eff:febf:9221%5: Destination address unreachable.
Ping statistics for 2001:5c0:0:2::24:
Packets: Sent = 3, Received = 0, Lost = 3 (100% loss),
I do not see the IP address that I was assigned (shown in the tunnel information window) does not show up on any interface. I assume this is the issue. Below is the result of an "ipconfig /all":
C:\Documents and Settings\grossia>ipconfig /all

Dynamic tunnels *always* get 5 credits after the first week. It doesn't indicate that the tunnel is up at all.
Looking at your configuration output, it shows that you don't have a tun/tap adapter.
You need to install that first for it to work:

Went through the installation of the tun/tap adapter again. Noticed some errors during the install. I was able to work them out. Came right up.
Thanks for your help.
