About DNS

Hi! I find the documentation not very clear on the issue of dns. Is this correct ? - users with a simple tunnel get an xxx::2 address with a forward and reverse DNS entry like : cl-34.pop.xx.sixxs.net What exactly is 34, the tunnel number ? Is is assigned per user ? Does it change with time ? The point being, can I use the cl-xx... name as my address for outside access, or do I need a dyndns service like with the old dynamic IPv4 addresses ? - how about subnets ? Do I need to set up my own DNS server and inform SixXS about it ? I see the "Adding a reverse DNS server" item on the pricelist* Is is possible to use an external DNS server ? Thanks for all help, David * - at https://noc.sixxs.net/faq/account/?faq=credits , is this the only and official price list ?

Tunnel addresses are static, and so are the DNS names associated with them. As such, yes, you could use them as a permanent entry point, as it doesn't change. The '34' is just a sequence number.
Do I need to set up my own DNS server and inform SixXS about it ?
For the reverse delegation yes you have to use your own DNS server. Forward DNS is all your problem though. Do read the What are your thoughts on DNS Pollution? FAQ item and keep it in mind.

"Prices" may vary per PoP. But the public PoPs all use that generic scheme.
