ADMIN EDIT: The problem has been fixed in AICCU with the entry: "Don't use a connected UDP socket for AYIYA and heartbeat traffic", new version of which for linux/etc will be released later on

Hello,
i have a Problem with the IP-Change. Every 24 hours the provider here in Germany disconnect the line an the router will redial.
The AICCU Service dont recognize that the IP is changed. This is the first problem.
I've written a Script that stops and starts the AICCU Service. This is triggered by the DD-WRT Firmware (Script in /jffs/etc/config/*.ipup or *.wanup). The script will be run (tested). But it don't add the interface. AICCU is restarted (new PID). When i start the script in a SSH Session the Interface will (re)generated but not when the AICCU service is stopped and restarted by the redial-script.
My first question is why dont recognize AICCU that the IP is changed. Is there an error? Second, is anything special needed to start the interface by AICCU.
regards Klaus

Hello Klaus,
i think you are currently not use the AYIYA protocol[1] to tunnel the ipv6 packets to your pop.
[1] http://www.sixxs.net/tools/ayiya/
You only have the choice to use another tunneling protocol, if you have a fixed ip v4 adress.

Hello Frank,
i think the AYIYA protocol is for use with dynamic IP4 Adresses? What can i use instead ?

Hello,
i forgot: my tunnel is AYIYA
---------------
Your IPv4 AYIYA, currently 88.68.208.235
IPv6 Prefix 2a01:198:200:1b::1/64
PoP IPv6 2a01:198:200:1b::1
Your IPv6 2a01:198:200:1b::2
Created 2008-03-13 19:05:11 CEST
Last Alive 2008-03-31 20:32:04 CEST
State AYIYA (automatically enabled on the fly)
---------------
when i understand it correctly AYIYA is for dynamic IP ?!?!? Because of this i have selected AYIYA protocol.
i also can start a script which restarts the AICCU service but it works only when i start it by hand not in an automatic redial script.
regards Klaus

Hallo Klaus,
also can start a script which restarts the AICCU service but it works only when i start it by hand not in an automatic redial script.
Then you some local scripting trouble.
Do you aware, that inside of systemscripts, the environment isnt fully there? What i mean is, there is no PATH. You have two choices :-)
1. every call of a program/script should have the full path.
2. you insert at the begin of you script the PATH var with correct content.
Are you familar with linux comandline and scripting?
Frank.

Hello Frank
i've tested several environment variables like PATH LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc but it wont work. I have made some ps or ifconfig > log.txt and i have seen that aiccu tries to restart the interface by ip -6 addr add xyz and i think this wont work ??
now it works .. the only one variable i have't try was the PATH variable
Thank you
regards Klaus

Hopefully an answer from the "General Forum":
"Restart aiccu autmatically on changing connectivity"
