Is there an absolute need for this then?

I see a correlation with my problems using irc.uni-erlangen.de.
As far as I understand their policy they demand a whois entry. I don't know about any special arrangements between sixxs and the irc.uni-erlangen.de operators.
I only 'need' it if, it's the only way to connect to the IRCNet using IPv6.
I don't have an absolute need for whois entries, as don't have an absolute need for IPv6.
I begin to regret choosing dedus1, as it offers worse service than other POPs. (esp. broken DNS delegation and missing whois).

No, I don't have an absolute need for IPv6.
But at the moment I regret choosing dedus1, as I'm not able to use irc.

IRC works perfectly fine over IPv4 doesn't it? Please use that. There are a lot more more useful things you can do with IPv6.
As it seems this is an IRC problem, contact your server operator. Not our issue.
