Packet loss to nlede01
Shadow Hawkins on Saturday, 07 February 2009 14:48:22
[Admin-edit: was/is problem at ISP of user]
Since the upgrade of POP nlede01, I have noticed increased packet loss (up to 30%) on my tunnel, T17641. Checking with the SixXS latency page http://www.sixxs.net/misc/latency/, also showing loss, I noticed that nlede01 has increased packet-loss since the upgrade with all POP's (compared over the last 2 weeks).
I monitor my internet connection as well using Smokeping, showing no loss at all over the past month. Connection info:
Internet over ADSL 4MBit/1MBit, connected to bridging (no NAT) router ASUS WL604g, connected to Server eth0, bridged to "inet" interface, having the public IP-address 85.145.112.171. My handle is SDH2-SIXXS.

I will include firewall output in a seperate post.
Increased Packet loss since hardware replacement
Shadow Hawkins on Friday, 06 February 2009 11:09:50
I am not including the entire firewall output in this ticket, but I provided links to where they can be found:
iptables -t filter -vnL
iptables -t nat -vnL
ip6tables -t filter -vnL
Thank you in advance for your time and effort.
Kind regards,
Simon de Hartog

Packetloss where?
There are most very likely quite a few hops between you and the PoP.
At any of these points there might be packetloss.
Use a tool like 'mtr' to determine where this might happen.
Increased Packet loss since hardware replacement
Shadow Hawkins on Saturday, 07 February 2009 14:45:51
After running mtr, the following information was displayed:
mtr nlede01.sixxs.net:
Host Loss%
1. s55917001.adsl.wanadoo.nl 0.0%
2. V748.dr3-asd6.nl.euro.net 0.0%
3. PC19.cr1-asd6.nl.euro.net 58.1%
4. PC16.er1-asd4.nl.euro.net 0.0%
5. amsix-501.xe-0-0-0.jun1.galilei.network.bit.nl 0.0%
6. nlede01.sixxs.net 0.0%
The third hop seems to give a lot of packet-loss. After contacting my internet provider they confirmed that KPN is having problems and are trying to fix it. My sincere apologies for bothering you with this problem. Thank you for the "mtr" tip and the great free IPv6 services.
Kind regards,
Simon de Hartog
