Problem getting T7076 up
Shadow Hawkins on Monday, 02 March 2009 22:29:22
L.S.,
I am having some problems with T7076. The linux router I used for this tunnel refuses to run for more than a few hours before crashing. I decided to move the tunnel to a different FreeBSD host. I have followed the steps at https://www.sixxs.net/faq/connectivity/?faq=ossetup&os=freebsd to the letter but it won't give me any ipv6 traffic. I have also tried letting it run for some time hoping it would pick up again. The first time I configured the tunnel on the FreeBSD system it did work, but after a reboot it started completely refusing. I have also rebooted the IPv4 NAT router that's sitting in between a few times, but no luck. Is there any hint you can give me where the problem could be coming from?
Some info:
gif0: flags=8051<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1280
tunnel inet 0.0.0.0 --> 192.87.102.107
inet6 2001:610:600:18c::2 --> 2001:610:600:18c::1 prefixlen 128
inet6 fe80::203:ffff:fe46:6c03%gif0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4
yes, I have also tried setting the local endpoint of the tunnel to my public IP, but that didn't work either.

[as the problem lies on your end of the tunnel, please (ab)use the forums for resolving this]
I have also rebooted the IPv4 NAT router that's sitting in between a few times, but no luck.
You have to configure it correctly for that to work. DFZ mode and other such methods. Easy way out: AYIYA.
tunnel inet 0.0.0.0 --> 192.87.102.107
You have to configure your local endpoint correctly. As you mention NAT, this would be your RFC1918 address (10.x.x.x/8, 192.168.x.x etc)

ok, thanks for the hint, this solves the problem. I don't really get why it did work on an earlier attempt though.
